Brown Butter Morel

Serves: 1-2

Cooking Time: 25 mins 

Ingredients:

10-12 dry Morels aka Gucchi mushrooms 

80g unsalted butter

½ tsp salt

½ tsp ground black pepper

Parmesan cheese (optional)



Process:

  • Wash the Morels with water and soak them in lukewarm water for 20mins.
  • Melt the butter in a pan on low heat.
  • Once the milk solids start to separate and the butter turns dark amber in colour, add the mushrooms.
  • Fry the Morels on medium heat for 5mins. 
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Grate some parmesan cheese on top. The cheese will crisp up and will make tiny chips.
  • Serve the Morels on some creamy mashed potatoes.
